Text message issue

Just got my iPhone 4s and it seems that while I'm in the chat window waiting for a message it will alert me but I have go back to all text messages and then back to the chat window i was at to see the text. Anyone else notice this on ios 5.

I don't or haven't noticed that. I do notice that if I am in the text screen and a reply comes in it will show my alert banner at top and until that disappears the actual text of the new message won't appear. Once the banner flips back away the text will appear. Just delayed but not causing me to back out of that screen.

My 4S isn't doing that, either. Had my message app open the whole time I was chatting tonight and never had to do that.

That's interesting that banner notifications can interrupt an active process to such an extent.

maybe that's happening to me and I'm just not waiting for it to appear. I just noticed it so idk if it's been doin it.
