Apple introduced the now-often-imitated "i" prefix with the iMac in 1998. The "i" stood for "internet" since getting online with an iMac was so easy. Since then, many have adopted the "i" to mean "I" since Apple's electromics are easy to use and enable "ME" to have a richer digital life. The "i" has become so pervasive that it's beginning to be 'generified,' or to mean an electronic version of anything following the "i."
