Please post here after you receive your iPhone 4S.

Which model did you get and did you wait in line or preorder?

It's 0815 on the east coast. Can't be too much longer before someone here gets one. I preordered so I think I'm looking at 12 more hours.

I'm right out side my AT&T store. Like 10 people are ahead of me. Shouldn't be more than 20 or 30 min.

West coast here Mindi (Fla). Mine is at the main hub in town, so I'm listening to every heavy sounding vehicle that drives by.
Think after it arrives I'll go treat myself to some Chik-fil-A. Oh, that was mean :D

The email from att says it could take 6 hours to activate the phone. That can't be right? Also says you have to take the battery out. I assume that is pretty easy and they provide a tool to do it? Need to go into AT&T to move my son's htc to my current iPhone so might just have them do it all.

You can't take the battery out of the iPhone. If it doesn't activate straight away you might try airplane mode in the settings page. Just flip it on and wait a few seconds, then flip it back off.

There is no taking the battery out of an iPhone....its an internal battery.

I would say that is just a generic email they send out with all new phones.
