I called the AT&T store and was told to try activating it through iTunes on my laptop. Trying now.

Called AT&T twice again. Both times there was extreme static on THEIR end and after waiting 5 minutes for them to pick up they promptly disconnected me when they came on the line.

Maybe we need an activation thread. This could be awhile.

Got the same "Pending" message I had when doing it through the phone itself.

Well I just spoke to another AT&T rep who was ABOUT to help me when the connection dropped. This is killing me over here.

I wish there was a corporate AT&T Store here.

Why do you need a Corporate store to activate a phone?

Brought my 2 phones to AT&T. They activated instantly.

Still haven't got mine. I'm getting antsy. I've seen a Fed Ex truck come by twice today yet no UPS. Next year I'm just going to wait in line. I did, however, watch the original 2007 iPhone keynote. It brought back all the memories of waiting for that phone for 12 hours on launch day. Really good times.

Walked in to Verizon at 1030 am and was out by 1115 with my bright and shiny, activated, 16g white 4gs. Most painless transaction yet and I've gotten every single iPhone since inception. Siri is awesome. I told her " Siri You're awesome " and she replied " I know " I think I'm in love

I drove up to the UPS Mailbox Store just as the truck was unloading. I drove straight home with 2 phones but am hesitant to try and activate after reading all this thread! Think I will wait for awhile and see how it goes.

I am so mad I had the phone since 11 am but was busy and needed the store to switch sims on our lines and now They can't activate it Since my huuby and OI switch sims we will be left with no phones until they fixed the servers
