i really hope they can fix the speakerphone on the first updated. it is very suck not fixing the most inportant thing -----> PHONE

Not to argue, but I have nothing better to do this late, and drinking too many Red Bulls. So like I said Luxury items:
Ringtones... I for one HATE songs as ringtones. I know that I am in the minority here. I was overjoyed to see the plain old telephone ring on the list of choices. We are trained from birth to know this as a telephone, and most do not find it disturbing. But if you are a Rock n Roll aficionado, hearing Garth Brooks or Eminem coming out of someones phone everytime a call comes (and of course the people with high class pick the most vulgar lyrics to play... and I do like some vulgar lyrics, but not around the little kids in the mall) can make your ears bleed.
While ranting: I also hate the NEXTEL walkie talkie functions. Its bad enough hearing one side of everyones conversations, but hearing both amplified and followed by a beep at the end of every transmission is down right obnoxious. I am so glad this feature is not part of the phone.
The only volume complaint I have is the speakerphone. I can hear calls fine through the normal way. The speakerphone is just too low. Other than that (which is actually small to me...but not to others) the phone is perfect. Phone functions as a phone should. Ringtones be damned.
Can you all tell I am strong headed and have a Search function and Todo list agenda ahead of all others?

Does anyone know the site link where software updates will be posted? Will all upgrades go through iTunes?

the site will have them but also you can see on iTunes there is a check for newer version botton also
Speaking of updates, do you think that any of us who did the ringtone and Carrier logo updates will be able to get the Apple updates for the phone? Or will they blow out all of our custom additions to the phone?
They wont block you from updates you will probably be able to update it.. maybe it will go back to default or even they will maybe block it somehow who knows .. but they wont block from updating you can always restore lol..
There's lots of threads concerning the next update. No one knows exactly, but next time please search before you post.

It's been said by another forum member that Apple's Customer Service Reps from the 800 MY APPLE number told him that there will be an update sometime this week. Not sure if it's true or not, I'm waiting until I see it before I believe it. But this is the best answer I can give to your question at the time.
Note: If you search the forums, like Britna said to do, you'll see the original post I'm referring to.
Many say they have different "sources" saying this week but we all know its 50/50 just like the update that was rumored on July 5th
You will most likely have the option to update or not ... also the update is just a rumor that it will be this week I don't think it has been confirmed.
