I was originally going to wait for version2 but these things seem to hold their value well anyway.

So I have some questions.

First, is there a work around chat client that uses data instead os SMS?

Second, do you think it will support flash or java in future software updates?

Third, and most importantly, how much space is 8GB? Meaning, how many songs/albums/movies/tv shows can you fit? I know this depends and differs for each person, but maybe some people can give me a breakdown of how much fits on theirs so i have a better idea. I am moving from a 60 GB iPod which just about held all of my music. I am getting used to the idea of only taking SOME music around with me, but I would like to get an idea of how much.

Finally, how does it synch things like music? Does it just fill up the iPod like a shuffle does? Does it prompt you? Do you create a playlist for it?

Oh, and how do you find the battery life to be?

Thanks for your help in advance!

My best advice is to buy it and test drive it for 13 days. If it does not work for you, return it on day 14.

I thought you had to return it within the 13 day period?

1) iPhone does have AIM and IRC in its early stages..as far as workaround sms goes there isn't one yet...I think.

2) I personally think it will support java or flash..if Apple doesn't put it, iam sure some hacker out there will :)

3) I have 500+ songs..9 videos ( 6 of them full length movies) and 151 photos and various applications I downloaded off Installer and I still have 2.2GB of space left..soo you decide lol

4)the syncing of music and such is just like the Ipod..if you ever used iTunes to sync music before you should be good to go and yes you can create playlists, but is optional. also you can create a on-the-go playlist from within the iPhone.

5) Regarding the battery life...I have found that it lasts LONG. I have watched 2 movies the other day and texted a lot and used youtube and the battery was only down 50-60%.. and it was connected to Wifi(which is a huge battery leech) soo the battery life isn't a issue for me .
