My iPhone froze up and I had to hard restart. Now I get this error message every 10 seconds or so, "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone" I don't have any accessories attached to the phone, so this is sort of confusing. Never attempted to connect any bluetooth devices, or any other peripherals for that matter. Any ideas?

plug it in sync with iTunes maybe? I had error messages before and or the iPhone did something and when I plugged into iTunes there was a message saying that "your iPhone received an error" or something so it ask if you want to send the problem to Apple... something like that.

I bought a car charger for ipods and whenever i use it, it gives me that message and asks if I want to put it in airplane mode. This probably doesn't help you but figured I'd share

Don't get me wrong, I love Apple, but:

This "Accessory not made" message really annoys me. Apple makes fun of Windows in one of their Apple vs. Mac commercials about how Windows security asks you permission for everything. Yeah, it's annoying at first, but at least Windows gives you the option to check 'Don't show me this again.' Apple's messages never do. Do I really have to say 'no' to airplane mode every frigging time I want to charge my iPhone in the car? Can't I choose 'don't ask again for this particular accessory' or better yet - there are no accessories made for iPhone! Why tell me at all? I know it's not made for it! How about you release some, Apple?

I have the Griffen charging adapter, kind of pear shaped plug that plugs into a 12v cig lighter socket with a usb socket on the other end. I use it all the time to charge my iPhone and my iPod on my boat and it has never asked me if I want to use airplane mode, or asked me anything else. It just starts charging.

maddening

This message started appearing on a semi-regular basis for me about a week ago. Sometimes it pops up every 15- 20 seconds. Other times I can go hours without seeing it. If it pops up while I am listening to iPod, it makes the music stop and the only ay to get it started again is to unplug and replug the headset. Really really annoying. This problem has been cropping up on the Apple forum and thought I would stop by here to see if anyone had discovered a solution yet, short of returning the phone to Apple (which is an option I really hate contemplating.)
