Hi Everyone,
I wanted to see if anyone else has had a touchscreen issue. Not the type of issue where the iPhone is slow to respond or could be fixed by a reset, but an actual issue where the iPhone has stopped responding to touch on some or all of the screen. I could not dial numbers 4, 5, or 6 when looking at the keypad in the telephone. It was also disrupting pressing buttons on a few of the dialog boxes which came up. For example, the screen where you enter your voicemail PIN, I couldn't hit ok or cancel. (These were both on the same region of the screen.)
I tried powering off, I tried doing a full reset, and I also did a Restore though iTunes and erased my whole phone back to factory settings, all without success. It seemed like an actual hardware problem.
I am now on my THIRD iPhone, the first two iPhones were swapped out for this same problem. It didn't happen right away, it took a week or two.
Ok, now FINAL QUESTION.... if this DID happen to you, have you loaded any custom graphics or ringtones into your iPhone? Because I did load a couple of custom ringtones and also installed a different skin using jailbreak and iPhoneinterface. I don't see how doing this could cause a hardware problem like this, and most likely its completely unrelated. I'd just like to COMPLETELY rule this out so I can get back to customizing!
I'd love to hear some feedback on this one!
