Tranferring photos from iPhone 4S to laptop?

When you plug your device into your laptop it doesn't see it as a device?

Hi - no it does not. When I previously did a transfer (approx. 6 months ago). I just connected phone to PC and it automatically trAnsferred pics, like it would if you inserted camera memory card. Things seemed to have changed? Thanks again

It should be automatic. Check to make sure the feature isn't disabled:

When i plugged my iPhone in and registered it to my iTunes, it automatically done them for me, all i had to do was open my photo's file and copy the photo's and paste them to my pictures file on the lab top
