If I transfer the sim card of an activated 4GB iPhone to a unactivated 8GB iPhone, will that work? Will the 8GB iPhone automatically activate?

actually I just tried it just now - doesn't work ... it says I need to activate in iTUnes... tried hard reset also, still says same thing.

You still need to activate through iTunes but it takes like 30 seconds...standard for brand new iPhones....

No it does not.

Should work without any problems after you activate it... That is if the phone was never reported Lost or stolen since you are activating the serial number of the phone and not the actual SIM.
