Traveling to the UK - anyone heard or can recommend Fonmigo.com?

I'm going to the UK and I came across a service called fonmig.com

I'm particularly interested in renting their mobile wi-fi.. a pocket size wireless modem that gives me 1gb of data for my iPhone for just $50.. Sound very good, but just wondering if anyone has heard about them?

I just came across this post. I rented a mobile wifi from them last month. I paid $10 per day to have Wifi every I went in London..

My Wife took a smartphone from them. It was a very straightforward and fully equiped smartphone with unlimited internet.

Not only did we avoid AT&T roaming rates, the fonmigo customer support team was very helpful with even non-device related questions.

I really recommend them.

Another way of looking at this, is to buy a British SIM card when you get to the UK. It's cheaper and you avoid roaming charges.

A SIM card is definetely an economic alternative. Fonmigo mobile wifi is a different product: it with any wifi enabled device (ipad, iPhone, laptops). It works with locked phones and allows you to connect 5 devices at once. The data rates a significantly better than PAYG SIM's that chage $0.70 per MB.

Both good alternatives to roaming, but the SIM is only for phones that are unlocked. It's a data solution for ipods, laptops, etc.

This is an Apple based forum, so if you have an iPhone, jailbreak it, unlock it, install MyWi and get a PAYGO SIM with a data bolt-on. Problem solved again. It will still be cheaper.
