Is there a way to turn off EDGE (so that it's WiFi only); when I go to Europe later this summer, I do NOT want to be paying $20/mb for data usage when wifi isn't available...

Thanks.

I don't see a way to turn off Edge but I suggest calling AT&T and asking them to block international web/data.

I know it would be a pain to do every time but pulling out the sim card would stop edge.

Unless you have international roaming activated on your AT&T account (which is not the default), you won't be able to use Edge outside of the U.S. anyway. However, the wifi will work fine, which is apparently what you want. Of course, you would not be able to use the iPhone for phone calls or SMS messages without Edge service.
