Unidentified network error

Hi everyone. Ive been having problems getting a connection from my laptop using my iPhone 4s' personal hotspot. If i connect it through usb i get the error "unidentified network". But when i connect to my iPhone's PHS via wifi, it connects. Ive tried a different iPhone with similar network settings and im able to connect via usb. Any ideas why?

I believe PHS can only be used via wifi or Bluetooth.

No it can be connected via USB as I do it all the time, that way it also charges your phone. Sorry but I don't know why you are getting this error. Unless it just did not install the phone properly. Does it work ok when connect to iTunes via USB with the wifi sync box unticked?

Try resetting your network settings. Be aware you will lose all of your previously saved wireless networks.

Try alternative USB cables as well.

Its weird because after several tries it started working everything looks goos now.
