So my iPhone 4 had been jailbroken for probably almost a year and everything has been smooth sailing I love it. Just the past 3 months or so my iBooks is complete garbage. Reading clash of kings and the app just crashes. Can't stay on the book for more than a minute. Thinking of unjailbreaking.. Meaning I just plug it into iTunes and update ill lose te jailbreak? What else would I lose? Any app, music, photos, contacts?

You won't lose anything. Sync and backup and then hit the update button.

I also have problems with certain books in iBooks. The app crashes as soon as the book is opened. I've researched it and it's a common problem with stock iPhones as well. Deleting and redownloading the app a couple of times fixed my last book.

Some of the early versions of redsn0w for 4.x caused problems with iBooks. Running an updated version of redsn0w on top of the old version that you have should fix it. Be sure to uncheck the box to install Cydia since you already have it installed.

All threads pertaining to jailbreak go in the iPhone Jailbreak forum. Theme questions go in the Themes forum. Cydia apps threads go in the Cydia Apps forum, and so on.

If you're using the EiC app to access this site, you cannot see these particular forums. You'll need to use mobile Safari on your iPhone or iPad to see these forums, or just access this site from a computer.

Thanks Europa! Ive deleted an redownloaded the app a bunch! I was trying to figure out how to update redsnow I have it on my old pc which I have a Mac now. So I did everything on the pc and I wasn't sure which boxes to check. Some were lk dfu pwned mode etc. And then when the phone shuts off and is in the process of jbreaking something comes up and says windows is experiencing a problem and it just closes and then nothing happens

Reinstalling iBooks didn't help me, either. I also deleted and downloaded the book several times on the slow WiFi network I was on at the time and the problem persisted. When I got home, I downloaded the book on my home network and it finally worked. It seems that the iBooks are easily corrupted during downloading.

The old versions of redsn0w will break DRM itunes-purchased books, though. Make sure you download the most recent version of redsn0w.

I would try deleting and downloading Clash of Kings again. Deleting and reinstalling the book itself is what worked for me.

Can books downloaded from the app store be read via Stanza(free in AppStore..) if previously viewed on iBooks...?

Not sure, but you'd have to jailbroken to access the file. I spent 20 minutes looking for the damn ebook to test that. I never could find it in the file system. The problem fixed itself when I got home from work and redownloaded it on my network, so I haven't bothered looking for the file location again. It's not in the same location as 3.x.
