SadlyI don't think AT&T has released this information yet, but I doubt we'll be grandfathered in forever. Every time you upgrade, you renew your contract and that can include agreeing to new terms. I think it's foolish to believe we'll always have unlimited data.
Well that's one way to think about it... But here is my thought..a little more positive then yours. I for one never have to renew a contract again, the iPhone sells on Apples site unlocked, that's how I would upgrade just buy the phone outright! Unfortunately not everyone can do that. It does serve the carrier notice.I don't think AT&T has released this information yet, but I doubt we'll be grandfathered in forever. A friend of mine told me a Verizon rep gave him the same information. I don't doubt this is true, I just doubt it will last forever. You gotta admit, it's not really fair to the people with new contracts.Verizon has said that with their tiered usage plans coming, they would allow anyone with unlimited to keep it even through a device upgrade. I'll find the Verizon link and post it.
yep my kid !I think the apps that stream movies, such as Netflix, killed unlimited data. Certain people were streaming 25+ GB per month (I've seen screenshots of their data usage on this forum) and the network can't handle too many of them.
I started watching a 1/2 hour show on my iPhone at lunch almost everyday (5 days a week). My data usage jumped up to 2-2.5GB per month. I downloaded one of those data usage apps 'DataMan free' and as of today (the 27th) it says I have used 1.1GB of 'Cellular' data. I can't see how I'm using over 2GB a month if on the 27th day of the month I'm only using 1.1GB. It seems like the usage that ATT reports doesn't match what my phone tells me.I think the apps that stream movies, such as Netflix, killed unlimited data.
