Does having Ringtones on your iPhone effect the software update. I plugged it in and it was ok at first. the it said unknown error. The iPhone showed the "please connect to iTunes" thing. And then iTunes said to do a comeplete restore. It is downloading the update right now. But does anyone know of moded iPhones having problems?

Mine was modded and it did not restore any of the modded stuff. So I suggest if want to keep your modded ringtones or logos, don't do the update just yet.

yes, you'll be forced to restore. Just remod.. First I used jailbreak on vista. Then after the upgrade it didn't work. ( I also used the updated version of the Apple firmware.) It just didn't work for me on vista. So I downloaded ifuntastic 2.1 booted into os 10, and it was all good... Ringtones, carrier tAgs and custom Icon configuration.

Good luck,

I use the iPhone ringtone maker software and after the update I still had all my ringtones. No problems here.
