Verizon's Answer to the iPhone

That phone has been out for some time. It is available to buy unlocked for any carrier. It is touchscreen, I have used it.
When held in juxxedposition they are similar.
When used, the iPhones interface is overwhelmingly more powerful.

I have seen that before and this is the worst answer to an iPhone ever. Actually, any phone is the worst answer to the iPhone.
What this just means is that everyone knows Apple's innovation and wants to try to copy... yet it won't work.

yes i remember seeing this the first time i was looking at getting the iPhone, a buddy of mine showed it to me..

No kidding. Why would they do that on a touch screen?It uses a numeric keypad for entering text!
Actually, the Prada phone came out FIRST overseas
That having been said, it doesn't even really matter if a phone comes out that's better than the iPhone. The iPhone is a status symbol.
There are lots of mp3 players that are better than the iPod, but Apple still dominates that market.
Thats why CDMA technology sucks. Everything has to be changed when it comes over from europe. This phone has been out for a while. Cnet has reviews on it. But before Verizon can put the thing out the whole thing has to be changed from GSM to CDMA. As a former CDMA (Sprint) user. It sucks when phones like the Cingular 8250 comes out then well over a year later sprint comes out with pretty much the same thing the HTC Mogul. And Verizon is even farther back they haven't had a new smart phone in a long time (blackberry 8830 excluded). That was one of the major reasons i switched to GSM other than the just for the iPhone. But the phones are just so much better and new.
All it's gonna take to launch this phone into the hands of millions of MTV-driven teens and twenty-somethings is having paris hilton sport one, and the ability to subsidize the price of the phone in a service contract (free phones make for happy parents)...
You could even get all uppity these phones and say,
"Yeah, and this is a Prada phone from Milan, not lame New York."
Lastly after reviewing the site, this phone looks very complimentary to a woman's handbag or jewelry, and the huge PRADA logo is just the sort of bling your local Jenny-from-the-block will love to show off in her purse next to her chihuahua. It really doesn't matter if this phone works reliably, or at all, thats all secondary to its primary purpose which is to compliment the owner's appearance.

Verizon? on that website it looks like it is GSM? Is a CDMA version due out this december? The browser uses wap, so you would not get a full internet experience like the iPhone. Also no wifi. I guess the CDMA version would have EVDO, however the GSM version only supports edge according to their website. I am confused...

Thank You! I'm sitting here reading these comments waiting for someone to comment on the disgusting battery life for talk time. And, what does this piece o' crap cost? I thought it was more than the iPhone...

Statistics mean nothing to fashion. Women would not wear shoes that give them disgustingly horrid blisters if they didn't think it was worth it to look good. This is a fashion accessory first, and a phone 2n... erm, 3rd or 4th... heh...

That verizon rep was talking out of his bum! The prada is GSM only and it is about 10 months old.
