Is it the location for the video files you're syncing in iTunes, or the files you're recording on your iPhone?

When you install it, you'll find a feature that can take you to any folder(s) that contains the file(s) you want (Music, Videos, etc.).

you are correct. but you still need to go into DMC/Apple100

so it would look like this

var/mobile/media/DCM/Apple100
