Voice Memo function?

I really want to like this phone.... but...


Is there anyway to have a voice memo function... ie: digital recorder for this phone like the pocket pc version phones have...

I can't believe that this phone can't record a voice memo with a simple puch of a button like the treo or any of the pocket pc phone. This is a feature i can not live without


PLEASE HELP... i want to like this phone!

This is one of the many features the iPhone is lacking. It's no big deal for me as I never used this feature on my previous phones

I totaly use this function for notes... it's fast and easy...

any work arounds or software...

No digital recording?

Got a very helpful response from x999x in the software forum...

"If your iPhone is modified, aka jailbroken, then you can install Vnotes through iBrikr, Breezy, or the Installer.app on the iPhone.

Vnotes will let you record audio, play it back and email it."



Basicaly... i quess you hack/jailbreak the phone... and install this 3rd party app.

might give it a try... how could Apple be so lame not to include a simple app like this that their competion (palm & windows mobile) has?

For crying out loud... i really don't want to hack this phone!

Where do you see any complain in this? I am just relating to what everybody knows. The iPhone lacks many many basic features. And yes, I was complaining about the price drop when that happened last week. Who wasn't? Even though I was complaining, what would the problem be? Don't I have a right to complain? If people hadn't complained they wouldn't be getting their $100 back from Apple next week....
But don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY iPhone. This is the best phone I've ever had! It just bothers me that it doesn't have cool features such as copy/paste, video camera, etc......

You certainly have the right to post whatever you like. My impression is your posts tend to be more negative than most, I was curious why.

Yes, maybe. My posts may be more negative than most but I'd rather complain than saying how cool the iPhone is. We all know the iPhone is the best phone ever invented, I just want to highlight its flaws :cool:
Again, I love my phone!

I went the other way, I was so sick of the same posts bashing I took some gratuitous shots. We're both big fans and we both realize the issues the phone has, we just vocalize a bit differently.:)

I've been using their installer for the last couple weeks. works great.

if you've never hacked the phone before or were holding out for an easy way to install software, this is it. Easy to update as well, as it becomes available. Erica Sadun's VNotes is simple but it works well...

Just do a sync before you run the application. You can always restore back to factory specs at any time, too.
