Web bookmarks

I added two web bookmarks, Facebook and gmail, to my home screen months ago, before I had iOS5. When I no longer had use for them, I deleted them. However, everytime I power on my phone, reboot, or respring, they reappear. I thought no big deal, when Apple releases iOS5, I will set it up as a new phone so no encrypted software or anything transfers over. It did not help. Jailbroken or not, they continue to reappear.

I am currently running iOS5.0.1 on iPhone4.

Anybody have a similar problem or offer any solutions?

Have you reset everything in safari , and held down the icon and clicked the x to delete ?

yes, I have cleared history, cookies and data, deleted all open tabs.

EDIT- I downloaded iFile via Cydia and went through a ton of different categories and finally found them. Deleted them from within iFile, went back to the springboard to delete them. Then resprang and they did not return
