Honestly, I'm not sure you're missing much. Even on a same network Wifi connection it's a bit slow and clunky. I can't imagine how much worse it will be over an external wifi or, perish the thought, over edge.

Using this VNC over the network was slightly faster than using terminal service on my HTC Wizard over edge.

yes, it is disastrously slow and takes a while to respond, but it just might come in handy. you never know.

of course, if you were that desperate to connect to your pc, either use logmein, or just set up Remote Desktop over Web and find the nearest library or kinkos.
