The last iPhone I bought Apple charged me tax on the retail price ($599.)of the phone instead of what I bought it for ($199.)has anyone noticed what they've been charged
It burns my britches that it's even legal to do that

It is in some states/provinces.....thus it depends on where you live.

I'm in Washington, so we only pay on the subsidized price.

My daughter & her boyfriend both just bought the 4s and signed 2 yr contracts they wish they were told while at AT&T they would've waited. both paid full value price as well on the tax

Not all stores do that. I bought my last phone at SAMs club, they only tax the selling price, not the full price. I think Walmart is the same

I'm not sure how tax works honestly, but that sounds about right. Maybe it's the area where you live in. Mine was $17 and a friends was $35.

If you are in Rhode Island or Cali, this is the way they roll! I got that rude awakening when I got my iPhone 4

I am in Iowa now. Thank goodness they did the tax on Iowa State 6%. In Linn County it is 7%

I am in Hongkong ,I paid about $630+sales tax about $80 when i got my iPhone 4S.
