i think the network is getting busier because i have a friend trying to send me pictures and it has been almost a half hour and i haven't received it yet.
Your friend isn't as efficient as you think. They haven't sent those messages yet.. :)

My girl just called me to help her update hers (she's not a techie AT ALL).. We updated her in 2 minutes.. and she fired off a message... i got it in under 20 seconds after she said she sent it..

For those getting the red marks, make sure you are not connected to wifi. MMS will not send over wifi (Not sure about receive)

every time i try to send an MMS, it just fails.

does anyone else just get the failed message, with the red exclamation point?

and sending MMS's ( or trying to, but having them fail ) uses a ton of battery life!

i get the same result whether i have wi-fi turned on or off - and i'm an a 3G signal.

i've tried about 15 times, and they all fail.

i have a 3G, with OS 3.1(7C144), Carrier 5.5, non-jailbroken or modified in any other way.

I'm a little worried that each one sent is actually counted as 2 messages by AT&T since they're showing in 2 separate bubbles after I send them. Not sure if this is just the way the Messages app shows them or if it's an accurate reflection of how they're going to be counted. :( Guess I should keep an eye on my account to figure that out...
If you hit edit, there is only one radio button toggle per message, so I think you can rest easy...

I was able to send on Edge after one retry here in North Carolina. I have unlimited texting and did not notice two bubbles being sent...

You're asking me? I'm just a contributor and yours says genius! lol.

No, really, I have no clue. I would do redo the BenM.at thing. If you lose MMS then redo everything again. The article has a link to download carrier 4.0 so if all goes bad just start all over again and get it back to how you originally had it.

All I did was follow the directions on that link then turned my phone off then on and everything was working.

I am tethering right now!

I just had a friend send me an MMS and I received it so I tried to send her one and it went through. It's VEEEEERY SLOW on EDGE but it's going through now.
Ok, I just redid the BenM hack and it and it worked! I now have tethering and MMS! Both verified to be actually working :)

No, but I'm getting there! ;)

Mine is showing 2 bubbles too so I asked a friend who I sent an MMS to and she received it in 2 messages also, picture in one and text in the other.

LMK if you get it to work. I think you and I were running the same until you just did the carrier update. I'm still on 4.0. I have been following what you have been doing and I would rather have my teathering than mms. It just comes in more handy.
Ok, Tate. It's a go. I'm on 3.0.1 with working MMS and Tethering. MMS will initially break tethering, but just redo BenM and it will work :)
