After buying the iPhone and watching various videos about the mac I have decided I want to move from pc to mac. I have a pc laptop and need a desktop. I want something to surf the web, email, photoshop, video conferencing, and just plain looks hot! I will have about $2,000 to spend. I do love the idea that the iMac has it all built into the monitor, but is that a bad thing? I also want something with a good video card, tv tuner and camera. Any suggestions? I assume I should buy new. Should I wait for the new os?

iMac is what you want. You can get one with the 24" screen for under $2000 with tax, shipped (and shipping is free).

I agree that the newly updated iMac would suit your needs quite nicely. The Mini might not be enough, and a Mac Pro might be too much for your needs.

Leopard will run you about $130 if you buy a machine now. Is it worth it to wait another ~3 months to save $130? Only you can make that call, I suppose.

Lastly, congratulations on your decision to switch. You won't regret it! :)

For TV you'll need something like EyeTV which works beautifully on my iMac to view and record. There are various models of EyeTV in the 100-200 range.
