The past 4 days this guy has called my phone 5 times. He will either say right away he has the wrong number, or he will talk like he knows me and then realize he has the wrong number. Today my phone was in my truck and when I got to it I had a missed call. I called the number and it was the same guy. He laughed a little and said he must have dailed the wrong number again and that he was sorry. Well just now my phone starts ringing, with a different number. Its him.

Whats weird was the first two calls came up as Mobil, AL calls... And now they are Houston, TX calls. Every single call comes up with a different number.

I decided not to answer the last call because I knew it would have been him and I would have went off on him because im getting pretty pissed off.

I thought maybe all the different numbers were coming from him using calling cards, but when I call the numbers back he picks up. He knows he keeps calling me, but why does he keep doing it? I haven't given out my number to anyone, so I don't know who it could be.

If you have a male friend or relative close by just have them answer the phone in a deep HELLO when answering - when it looks to be the "stalker" as we shall call him.

This should detour him from calling back blatenly, like it seems he is doing.
Good Luck!

Sounds to me like you have a stalker! Call ATT and let them know about...and then i'd call the cops!

The second time it happened, I called the number back not thinking it was the same person because of the different number and a girl answered. She seemed kinda pissed a girl was calling and then gave him the phone and he kinda laughed it off saying he had the wrong number again.

Im wondering if he met a girl out somewhere and she made up a number and it happened to be mine. I really don't know where he got my number from. He keeps saying his number is like mine and miss dials it, but come on, 5 times?

That's must be really frustrating!

If I don't recognize the number when someone calls I don't answer. If it's that important, they can leave a message.

Especially if it's a bill collector! :p

Very strange....is your mobile number new? If so, carriers do reuse old numbers... I don't think att can do anything about this since wireless carriers are unable to block individual numbers.

I will be calling AT&T tomorrow with the numbers. The thing is that guy doesn't have a Louisiana accent. When someones from Louisiana, you can kinda tell.. lol

But for now, till the issue is resolved, I will have my .45 by my side.

Sounds like you have quite the phone freak on your hands, or phone, so to speak!

If I were you, I would tell him in a very mean tone of voice to buzz off and not to ever call here again, and that if he does he will have to deal with your 6'7 tall husband.

That always works for me when I get phone freak calls.

Even put someone male on the phone.

Sounds like the the dude is starved for attention. Ignore him and the problem will go away. failing that, what's the numbers? (we could all *67 him at different times haha)

what's more interesting is why do you continue to pick up the phone if you know it's him anyway? is your time really not that valuable? it takes two to tango here.... and it's not harassment if you engage him by picking up. 5 times in 4 days is virtually nothing... if he was calling every hour on the hour, we'd have a different story here.

Either said guy is blind, deaf, etc. and happens to dial the wrong number every time, or you got a stalker. If he continues to call, switch your number.

Once a small group of girls kept calling me, presumably because one of their numbers was the exact same as mine but 2 digits were reversed. They KEPT calling me back and acted like we were best friends. She kept doing it, so I went off on her (whomever she was). She acted offended that I would talk to her like that, but why is she talking to me in the first place?

One day she called me for the 11th time, I picked up pretending to be crying, and told them my mom had just died in a car accident on the way home from work and that their unwarranted calls are just making it worse on me. Hung up, and never heard from them again.

Cruel, but effective. ;)

You should write all the numbers down along with the time and date and contact AT&T and also get your number changed and don't give it out to anyone unless there close to you. Then I advise you to go to the police so they can have the matter investigated. Also a word of advice is to be careful as most of the time these persons who do these things you see every day and don't even know it.
I agree. There are twisted people out there that have somehow gotten their hands on the technology the Feds use when spying on the mob. It can enable your mic, camera, even dial out.
I read a story about this a couple months ago about 2 families that each had a teenager in the home that was getting harassed. The person knew what the teenagers were doing, where they were, and even who was with them.
if you get any more calls, document them and the times that they come in.
Also, for the next couple days, power off your phone completely when not in use, and secure it in something that is "sound-proof" and covers the camera.
If you do have someone being a "tech stalker" you will probably frustrate them into moving on.

Hey, PM me the dudes number, does it start with area code 337? I have someone calling me consistently as well, I haven't answered it and I'm more than 100% sure it's a weirdo calling too. They haven't left any messages but I'm going to pick up next time to see if it's a freak. Then I'll verbally degrade the person with a passion! I was afraid to answer it cause I'm not from that area, all the people who know my number are on my contacts and I don't do businesss calls so it can't be a businesss and I know I'm not in debt, so people aren't after me. I'll confirm it next time that number calls though! It's definitely a strange number for me to receive.
