When will Apple make iOS 5 available to the general public. I don't have a developer account, but looking forward to the software update. Anyone know?

Can't wait for iOS 5, especially now that I won't be getting the 4S.
In the past, weren't the major iOS upgrades released mid to late morning? I thought I remembered being at work and seeing posts from people at around 10:00am or so PDT.
If it's released at 1000 (US time) it won't be available in the UK until 1800 tomorrow... suppose I'll have to wait until you guys get up'
No it won't be. iOS 4.x.x doesn't support OTA updates. You will have to manually update to iOS 5 via iTunes - make sure you update iTunes before updating your phone
I agree. Waiting a few weeks for the 4s so playing around with ios5 will fill the void. Just hope this poor old 3GS can handle it lol
Dude, if you've waited this long, try to wait for 5....that's probably when Apple will release the big guns!

I've been holding off for ever. Granted I gave the 4 a try for two weeks and didn't like it enough. I am ready for the 4s though. I'm sure I'll get the 5 regardless.
Cool then....as long as you get the 5 I'll be happy, otherwise we couldn't talk anymore! I have standards you know...

Apple hasn't announced a time for the release. But yes it will be available for download sometime tomorrow.
