Which type of case is better?

So I read from somewhere that there was a difference in hard cases and soft cases. I don't remember which case it was, but one of them is better for your iPod. I read that the back of your iPod acts as a cooling system because it transfers the generated heat from the iPod onto the surface that it is touching. But one of these two cases don't allow the heat to transfer as well or at all. So does anyone know which one it is? I bought a hard case today and I want to know so I can take it back if I have to.

Soft cases are made from soft material like fabric and hard cases are rigid. Soft cases would make an iPod bounce if you dropped it while the material of a soft case would absorb the energy. It should say which kind it is but if not just look at what the material is. It really is personal taste for which is better but [link removed] has some pretty good info about case types.

Casesmag, I don't think you quite understand the question. And thanks, Psylichon.
