On 7/18 I added a line to my plan, for my son, and sent AT&T an email requesting the change the plan accordingly and add the Family Plan Unlimited Texting to the account. I received the following confirmation:
And people wonder why I communicate with customer service through emails...it eliminates the "that isn't what I said" or "you misunderstood what was explained" excuse.
I get my bill last week, and it's insane, almost $500 and I can't make heads or tails of it. So I send another email, get a response saying that they found errors totaling $150, bill is now down to about $300, given that it's a first bill for 2 lines, it's about what I was expecting. However, in that email is the following:As you have requested I have changed your monthly service plan to the
Family Talk Nation 1400 for $89.99 a month. I was also able to add the
unlimited family plan text to both lines for $29.99 a month. We are
showing that the porting process has not completed on your mobile line
ending in 7394 so the change to its monthly service plan will not show
until the full porting process is completed. Regarding your iPhone
feature needed, I was able to reduce the cost of it to $20.00 a month,
to the iPhone data + 200 (which does include include the unlimited
data, visual voicemail, and 200 messages) as it is the lowest cost package.
Even though the package includes 200 messages, the messaging unlimited for Family Talk plans will take precedence over the 200 messages. I have also set myself a reminder to revisit your account in a few days to make sure everything is working properly for you."
Am I stupid or does this just completely go against what I was originally told? I know I read here that people had successfuly added the Unlimited Family Messaging plan. I've sent another message to AT&T, quoting what I quoted above from the first message and telling them they need to switch it back and honor what I was told by their employee.Mobile number 993-xxxx was charged incorrectly for the
Family Messaging Unlimited. You are not able to have this feature with
the iPhone data package."
