Why does 3G not allow access to Internet?

Is 3g supposed to allow you to acces the internet when you don't have a wifi connection because when i tried it said safari cant open the page because its not connected to the internet, thanks

3g is the speed. its faster then just normal edge. you should be able to access the internet probbly wherever you are at. edge will kick in if 3g isn't available.

Yes it is. I have gotten that error a couple of times. Sometimes there could be a problem with a tower that will not allow you to access data. Try turning your phone off and on. It might help.

thanks for the info, i tried tuening phone off and on but still received the same message, were i was my old iPhone would work but the new iPhone wouldn't thats how i didn't understand.

Most likely there is a problem with AT&T in your area. Give it some time to see if it gets fixed, if not call AT&T and let them know.

Who is your service provider? Are you roaming?

roaming mean you are using another provider outside of you chosen one, anyway just call o2 asap and get information on this problem

ok will do, thanks for help. should i maybe try restroing my phone to see if it makes a differences because i don't even geth the 3g symbol on my screen?

when i turn 3g off then on in settigns it comes on for 5 mins then goes back off, any solutions?
