The setting where you can pick how often iPhone checks your mail is not on my phone, its supposed to be the first one there.
Where is it?
Where is it?
can you explain more? It's not in Settings-->Mail-->Auto-Check (under Messages)?
auto check isn't even there for me, do I have to be connected to wifi for that option? Like the first choice is " show"on the home screen look for "settings" which has the gears icon (3rd row last icon). click it
right below "general" is "mail" (8th icon down). click it
then under messages "auto-check" is the 1st option. click it
then you will have the option for:
manual
every 15 min
every 30 min
every hour
now pick one and it will work

Being connected to wifi has nothing to do with that setting, in Mail you should see:auto check isn't even there for me, do I have to be connected to wifi for that option? Like the first choice is " show"
yeah, I only have 5 tabsBeing connected to wifi has nothing to do with that setting, in Mail you should see:
Accounts
(2 tabs)
Messages
(6 tabs) and the first tab is the Auto-Check option
If this section is not on your phone the you need to return your phone for another one.
I think yahoo pushes mail so you don't need to check it. They may have it not there for Yahoo!could it be because im using yahoo mail? LIke when i get new mail it DOES show up, but the option to check every 5, 15, 60 minutes isn't there
Yahoo uses IMAP Push email. You don't need it to check for email. It's sent to your phone instantly.could it be because im using yahoo mail? LIke when i get new mail it DOES show up, but the option to check every 5, 15, 60 minutes isn't there
That's correct, with yahoo, your e-mail is automatically sent to the phone so there is no need for the phone to go check the server at regular intervals. Yahoo is the only provider that has this option.I think yahoo pushes mail so you don't need to check it. They may have it not there for Yahoo!
