As I wait for my 42 Sport model to arrive, I have been reading a lot of posts of people telling how easy it is to scratch the glass on the Sport version. I originally had no intention of covering up such a nice looking watch but now I am thinking about it.
I will research all the leading product out there and select the one which fits the watch the best. I has to be as invisable as possible and also "feel" as close to the naked watch as a protector can.
I really did not want to do this but it looks like these watches are scratching rather easily.

In a way, it's a good thing that the watch is a disposable product.

Disposable? Hell, no. You can definitely sell it and recoup some of your money.

I wonder who would buy my watch a few years down the road when Apple is no longer releasing updates for it?
People are still selling original iPhones from 2007 on eBay. Obviously, you'll make more if you sell it after a year or two, but you'll still be able to make money if it's several years old. People will even buy them for parts if they are broken.

No. They are a different style. They typically have the crystal set back and protected somewhat by metal (it acts as a lip on a case). The Apple Watch doesn't have anything protecting the front. I've never had a problem with scratches on watches with the crystal set back. My watches that have nothing protecting the sapphire crystal get scratched with time as they bumped against walls and stuff. However, the sapphire crystal on my Movados might not be as good a quality as Apple has.

I have a Suunto with a sapphire crystal and wore it for 10 years, went to Iraq along the Syrian border in 2005, endless camping and hiking and there are zero scratches on the crystal. The aluminum is beat up. But with the Apple Sport I guess I will live dangerously and not protect it.
