I'm new to the forum, and a search didn't produce the answer tgo this question.
Is there any way I can view word docs, spreadsheets, and other working documents on the iPhone?
TIA

Email the document (use the extension ".doc" format for Word and ".xls" for Excel) to your iPhone. Double tap the file icon to view the text/spreadsheet.

Someone on this forum suggested moving your email to the "sent" folder to keep the document on your iPhone (and avoid having to download it from the server each time).

Reading excel

Anyone finding that certain cells on an excel are seen on the I phone inaccurate. When I receive an excel all the columns look correct except the cell that shows the date due on a quotation.

Ohmigod, the tabs work for the different worksheets within the workbook.

I use www.readdle.com - it allows you to upload any document (.xls, .doc, .pdf, etc) and then view it through Safari. I've found it very useful, one nice thing is that even if you do a restore on your phone, the documents are online so you lose nothing. :)
I don't know if I like the idea that my documents are sitting on some else's server. It doesn't sound safe.

I sent one of my work related word documents (with complex formatting within the document) and the iPhone failed to open it saying "ERROR_MSG_FORMAT". Sucks..............

Also, I wish there was a way to view documents in landscape mode in the email viewer...................

Documents to Go?

Before switching to the I Phone.
I used the application Documents to Go on my various Treos. Has anyone heard of a similar application for I pHone..
The problem with the web based programs, you really need to be on WIFi to be able to access the files quickly.. The only thing I found is to save in email drafts or a separate folder in Yahoo.
