Yahoo - Able to Receive but not Send

Yes I just had this happen to me today (multiple times). I have yet to successfuly send an email, have you (anyone)?
EDIT: I'm thinking that it is only today that it is not working but i cant be certain because this is the first day that have tried to send an email.

This seems to be a major issue affecting many users. I have found if I do a soft reset (home button+sleep button for 10 seconds) it restores normal behavior.
I had the same problem and was able to get it resolved by turning on SMTP.

Can you please explain? If you use the Yahoo email setup that is part of the phopne, you can't edit those settings.
Apparently this is only accessible if you set up as POP/IMAP account manually, using not the automatic IMAP Yahoo settings. Mine worked fine for 3 days then yesterday the sending issue hit me, Yahoo must be having problems, hopefully they'll get it straightened out.
I finally gave up, since I already had yahoo plus I switched to pop access. If and when they get it lined out I'll change back to IMAP, but for now pop works great checking every 15 Min.
I have the same issue. Interestingly I've found the following dynamics:
1) if you go to your yahoo account on your computer and send a test message somewhere from it, it seems to "activate" the account again on iPhone which allows it to send email from that account (for a little while).
2) when you first enter a new yahoo account, it seems to work (for a little while) until it stops pushing and sending.
My hunch: (could be wrong)... Yahoo! is having trouble with authenticating on it's outbound server after a certain "timeout" or lag or Apple is not sending the authentication correctly... Frustrating. It's really the only thing on my iPhone that I've found that just doesn't work.

I'm experiencing the same problem and can't seem to resolve it. It was working fine when I set it up a couple of days ago and it suddenly stopped working. This is fustrating cause now I have to use another account just to reply mails. I'm gonna try a soft reset and see if it works and hope I don't loose my mails.
After sending a message go to the "sent" folder and open it. You will see at the bottom of the screen the message "downloading message". It will send after that. I don't know why but that is what I had to do all day Sunday and Monday. I really hope that yahoo fixes this or they offer push gmail. Try what I did and see if it works for you and let me know. Interested to know if it does work.
After I send a message it doesn't even show up in my "sent" folder. It makes the send sound and goes into email oblivion. I haven't been able to send an email from my yahoo in about a week. Very very frustrating! I gave up my exchange server for this crap.
Your right it now shows in my sent box (for the past week it never did), but sadly even after I open it and it says "checking mail" It never actually sends. I have sent myself emails to both my .mac mail and my work mail to verify. No mail has come in for either account.

This is fustrating as I used to have an exchange mail and I don't encounter these problems. Hope it works though as I'm now using my gmail. Giving up on yahoo mail soon.
Mine also was not working. I receive emails no problem, but cannot send. If you go to settings, I'm sure your email address and password is correct, but did you happen to change your account name to something different? For example, instead of what yahoo has in Jon Doe, you put in JD?it's still not working for me. After sending the mail, I went to the sent mail folder and waited. After correcting mine, no problem, I now send emails. Hope this helps!
