Hi,
Is anyone using YellowSn0w with t-mobile? Is it working, and is everything up and running?

Also, I can't find it in Cydia, is it there?

Thanks!

It works on T-Mobile USA, but you must turn off 3G if you have a 3G iPhone. You can't see it on Cydia until you add the source: http://apt9.yellowsn0w.com/

See iClarified Tutorial if you want a step by step.
Thanks, and if I understand correctly, then it really isn't worth it for me to buy a new 3G phone since I will have to turn it off anyway. I am better just staying with my unlocked 1st generation phone, right?

Thanks again,
Laina

Well yes and no....if you want the unlock there already is one for the iPhone 1st gen.
If you want the 3g speeds then yes it would be worth buying the 3G and just installing yellowsn0w with a jailbreak.

T-mobile usa and UK have 3g speeds so do vodafone.

But, I thought that if you use T-mobile and use the yellowsn0w, you have to turn off 3G, so how are you using the 3G speed then?

Just trying to be sure before I spend the money.

Thanks,
Laina

That is correct Laina.

In the U.S., you must turn off 3G for it to work on T-Mobile. Therefore, you may be better off sticking with a first generation iPhone. However, the new iPhones have a much better speaker (including the ear speaker, which is louder), and they feel better in your hand. However, they are more expensive and thereforee probably not worth your upgrade price.
