Apple store customer service has always been above and beyond for me and my family.

Glad you got a free replacement :)

Wow, that's amazing. I've never heard of them just swapping out a broken phone before. I haven't broken mine and hope not to, but it's nice to know they give that kind of service.

Wow. Must be nice for you guys. The color on my wife's iPhone 4 is really bad and they basically told me to piss off and that's it's within standards. The whites on her phone is actually yellow. It's plain as day. Anyway, I asked to speak to the manager and he was rude and absolutely condescending. I had to call the Apple customer complaint number and you know what they did for me? Absolutely NOTHING. Glad to know that if I need a phone replaced I should smash it on the ground first.

I brought my phone in a while ago because half the screen was discolored. They proceeded to tell me there was water damage. Ok so I asked for proof. They said for sone reason the water sensors weren't tripped. It cost me 200$ for a replacement. I'm not crazy about Apple but I love the phone even with it's numerous flaws.

For those that have had not-so-great experiences getting replacements . . . I have read many Genius Bar stories on this discussion forum with varied results. I fully expected to have to pay $200 to get mine replaced and I was very pleasantly surprised at the resolution I received. I am sure there are quite a lot of variables that go into any decision, but I have found that the common theme with the successes is honesty and friendliness. However, the willingness to escalate and be patient does wonders in some cases. Water damage without the moisture sensors being tripped? No way I would accept that conclusion, even if it meant not having my iPhone for a while until Steve Jobs himself told me I wasn't getting a no-charge replacement.

Also, I realized I had forgotten to upload a picture of the old iPhone. I took my Otterbox Defender off because it was a little bulky. Needless to say, my iPhone is back in the Otterbox and will never leave it again.

Just last week, I took the phone in because of battery issues. Turned out I had water damaged I didn't know about. Walked out with another iPhone 4. ;)

There are different stories about the customer service of the Apple Genius Bar. But mostly it's world-class customer service. Nevertheless it's better if my iPhone doesn't cause me any problems.
