If you are into MMA or BJJ, GrApplearts is awesome.
I had to google that, I had no idea that MMA and BJJ were acronyms for martial arts, lol and I've taken Sho-Ryn-Ru and Taekwondo.

I used to think AIM was the best application for iPhone and I still do. But getting a free version is difficult. The thing I like about it is, push notification. However I thought this function comes with the service but apparently not. So, I got the idea on what else I can get push facility? Can anyone fill up?

I am confused by your post but I think you are asking for another service besides AIM that pushes? And obviously you want it free. But I would recommend spending the $9.99 on Beejive. I do not like spending too much money on anything but I am glad I spent it on this. It is amazing. They did drop Facebook support for now due to some issues but are saying it should be back soon.

I agree. Beejive is great. Initially I had Nimbuzz which I still think is a good app and worked fine. Then when all the push businesss started I switched to Beejive and haven't had any problems. Although, if it had skype it would have been even better ;)

I'm guessing you wanted to know what other push apps are there...

I have:

  • AP Mobile - News App, but I don't receive many push notifications
  • BeeJive (best instant messenger client ever; not just for iPhone, but BB also)
  • Evernote - best notes application. comes with a desktop app; all for free.
  • BillMinder - bill reminder app
  • Occasions - Reminds me of birthday & anniversaries
  • NotifyMeFree - Free task app
  • SimplyTweet - Twitter app for

*note* Evernote is free, but for more storage and features, there is a cost
*note* SimplyTweet is $4.99, BeeJive is $9.99, BillMinder $1.99 and Occasions is $0.99.
*note* prices are subject to change

You can also find Apps that utilize push here:

Best application means a application that provides all fun. And fun means DIRTYMOUTH. It's a tremendous application to make fun with friends. Users who are using it are addicted to it.

What's so good about Beejive? The only problem I have with AIM is that it's so laggy..it freezes on me whenever I receive texts and I can't type during those 2 or 3 seconds. Is this problem solved with Beejive?

I never had those problems with BeeJive. So that's a problem with AIM or your device.

BeeJive, IMHO, one of the best 3rd party apps in the App Store. I'm not even putting it in the Social Networking category. Instead, I'm putting it in the "ALL" category.

Options after options to customize to your liking. Themes and more. It was worth it and I don't IM much.

I have never had a problem with Beejive. Just added Tune wiki Limited. Its awesome! Get the lyrics to any song on 500 radio stations around the world.

Think it might be the best music app I have found with the exception of Pandora

I am now an official Beejive supporter. I was using Yahoo Messenger, Fring, Palringo and also the new eBuddy. all are working great but loose the main function of IM.. keep me online 24 hours...

Beejive really keep you up 24 hours (if you want) and the push notification is really work like charm. It's hardly kick me out of any IM that I am sign in, and the speed of reconnect when opening the apps its really fascinating.

its totally worthed. the best 10 bucks I ever spend..:)

Having just gotten my miffs on Aroundme, I have to put this right near the top of my list. What an app and its free. All I can say is phenomenal.
I don't understand why people rave about these apps, they just leech information from google maps. Why not just open google maps, search for "restaurant" and then pick from the list it gives you to get address, directions, email address, phone them from the app, add to favourites etc. AroundMe, Vicinity etc. give you the same info from the same source, except they are limited to the businesss categories that the developer thinks you should have. Google Maps is not limited in this way. Want a dentist or photographer or waste services. AroundMe won't help you like google maps will. Just a waste of an icon space IMO.

I find that AroundMe misses out lots of locations that google maps doesn't. I've tested this by looking for places I knew existed around where I live (UK).

Still pretty useful if you're in a tight spot in an unknown place...

Hi,
I am also new to the iPhone. I have downloaded several free apps including, Dragon (speech to text app) imdb (great movie informational program), Shazam, (names that tune) and Pandora ( personalized radio ). These are all free downloads from iTunes. I also like going to youtube and searching for the best apps for iPhone. Many informational videos that review differents apps and show you the highlights of each. I really like my iPhone thus far and am impressed with what it has to offer. Good luck to you on your journey!
