What keeps you up at night or what makes your stomach hurt when it comes to the iPhone?

For me it would be Att messing up the launch of the phone. Be it with a overpriced data plan or among other things.

1) "sorry, we're sold out"

2) "you cannot purchase an iPhone until your plan is eligible for an upgrade"

3) "ok, that will require a $50 data plan

"Sorry, we're sold out."

"You're gonna pay through your @$$ for that plan."

Being #201 in line of my store that only gets 200 in stock. (shouldn't be a big deal, i'll wait a few days ahead of time if need be.)

I share the two most common concerns:

  1. Can't get one
  2. Required Data Plan is too expensive

I still have hope that neither of these will be issues when the 29th finally arrives :).

I would say...
  1. Sold out
  2. DOA (my iPod video suffered this fate). Very painful to have to return it. I couldn't handle that pain if my iPhone came DOA.

The fact that I am still on Verizon and still stuck with a Palm Treo that sucks. F Verizon, can wait till the 29th.

I will be in Hawaii on the 29th, so my fears are:

- Leaving on a ship on the 29th, unable to get to a store (I don't know the schedule, but I think it leaves on the 30th)
- Small quantities in Apple/AT&T stores there, and sold out when I get there
- No transportation to stores, have to wait until I get home
- None at home when I return

Sadly, I had a nightmare about the iPhone the other day. I went to my ATT store and bought it and the touch screen was a fake. The bottom of it scratched off when you touched it and there was a normal hardware QWERTY keyboard and some touch sensitive buttons like on the chocolate. The 8gig was twice the size (in all dementions) of the 4gig and i got that one without knowing (because they never told me). On top of that, it weighed nearly a pound and was non-refundable. Couldn't think of anything worse happening to the iPhone...thank god I can rest assured that WONT happen...

1 - Sorry, you're not eligible to buy the iPhone because you're a current customer under contract.
2 - Sorry, we're sold out.
3 - Battery life sucks.

I'd say a massive data plan through Cingular/AT&T is my fear... I'm already spending a decent sized chunk of $ on my plan, so adding anything more than another $20 is gonna severely depress me.

The machine itself will blow me away I'm quite certain :)

  • "Yes, I know you pre-ordered your iPhone, but we ran out anyway. Yours was the last one. Here’s the $600 you already paid. Good luck finding an iPhone at another store. Next customer! Yes sweety, I have your iPhone right here."
  • iPhone 2.0 (with 32GB storage, 3G, GPS, A2DP, AVRCP, video recording, 5mp camera with optical zoom, expandable memory) available for the Christmas season.
  • "Sorry, your contract isn't eligible. Come back in 2 months."
  • "You will have to upgrade your $20 a month unlimited data plan to our new fancy $60 one."
  • And the biggest nightmare of all:
The iPhone flopping is responsible for Apple going bankrupt

Battery life not living up to any serious expectations. I'm eager to find out the life while actively using the phone.
Also, irate customers, lol.
